Yonit Hagoel-Karnieli, director of the National AAC Center, Israel

Yonit Hagoel-Karnieli, Speech and Language Pathologist, MSc, is a certified SLT (speech and language therapist) and a leading communication clinician specializing in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and AT (Assistive Technology). She serves as the Director of the Ezer Mizion Israel National AAC Lending Center and Communication Assessment and Intervention Unit. She is a leading consultant for AAC and AT care at hospitals, medical centers, and clinics throughout the country. Ms. Hagoel-Karnieli is actively involved in education and awareness raising, directing AAC courses and lecturing at universities throughout Israel, as well as serving as a guest speaker at national and international conferences on speech, language and communication topics. She is considered to be an expert and foremost professional in her field.  Ms. Hagoel-Karnieli has created alliances and partnerships in AAC and AT development together with software engineers, startups and international organizations promoting these issues (Google Inc., Microsoft, European Commission, Israel National Ministry of Health, etc.). She is a former President of ISAAC International Israel Chapter. Ms. Hagoel-Karnieli is driven by her sincere belief in the right of every person to access communication, thereby living life to its fullest.
